Back in Missouri

We decided to take advantage of the summer and so here we are in Missouri again. Where we live, the oak trees are suseptible to drought and disease. Needless to say, this is what we found when we drove up.

It was nice that our neighbors had forewarned us before we came so it wasn't a complete shock.

Funny how they look so much larger when they are on the ground.

I took this picture from inside the garage and it shows Ron starting the clean up.

Done for now! Will tackle the rest later. Everything moves at a slower pace here in the Ozarks.

I know it has been a while since I last blogged but have taken 3 weeks off. Just fun and sun in Missouri.

Thought I'd better show you some more pictures of the show. Here goes:

We had $5.00 and $10.00 bundles of wool. They were a hit!

This was such a popular kit. Pattern is from Bareroots.

This is Cricket Street Wool Designs wall. I just introduced them at this show and everyone seemed to like them.

Common Threads Quilt Show....Wichita, KS

Thought I would share with you some of the pictures of our booth at the quilt show, June 25 - 27th. We did take a lot of pictures so will add new ones the next few days.

We arrived and found our booth 'very white'. Since Cricket Street Wool doesn't do well with white, we had a job ahead of us.

Now the work begins................in 100 degree weather and no air-conditioning.

Karin is doing such a good job sorting that wool!

Dewees, don't let Liza fall!

After 7 hours, we are all finished.

Liza's Summer Hobby

Ron and I had a chance to drop by Liza's house yesterday afternoon. We wanted to check out all her hard work............she has been rebuilding her pond. Thought it would be fun to share some pictures with you.

This is one awesome backyard.

She also has a small pond! It is nestled along the side with all the beautiful landscape.

Lastly, we want you meet Seth, the keeper of the yard.

Anyway, hats off to Liza, her hard work paid off!

Now, back to work, the Common Threads Quilt Show in Wichita is coming up fast! We have been working hard trying to get things ready. Watch for more pictures of what we are going to have in the booth.

Just found out that we will be in booth #303. I have been told it is on the west side of the building.

More Pictures from the Sunday Gathering and a sneak peek of Quilt Show items

As promised, I have some more close up pictures of the crazy blocks from last Sunday............

These are close ups taken of Gaila's block.

We had a show and tell when the two Judy's brought their projects. These two gals get so much done and everything they do is great!

You just have to see this one in real life to appreciate it. Great job Judy (she is going to let me take it to the Wichita, Kansas quilt show 'Common Threads 2010') Thank you Judy. I will be vending there on

June 25-27, 2010. Think I counted 58 vendors.

It's hard to tell, but the baskets are woven strips of wool.

Judy is ready for her borders.....can't wait to see that!

Really been working hard to get ready for the quilt show and a couple gals have been hard a work making samples for me. Take a look at Dewees' geranium pillow................it's gorgeous !!!!

How about this one? It is really cool!

Crazy Woolies Gathering....... Sunday, May 16th

We had a fun day with the Kansas Crazy Woolies

I offered some specials of wool bundles which they had a good time finding just the right one

(or two or three)

I took a lot of pictures and will scatter them out over the next few days.

Judy made her crazy quilt block into a large pillow that was really unique.

She has really been busy the last month, don't you agree?

A couple of post ago, I showed you Dewees' block and here it is all ready to frame.

Marilyn's Block

Hello to all on this rainy Sunday morning! I just received the pictures of Marilyn's first block. I emphasize "first" because I think she is addicted. She was telling me all of her plans for other blocks she is going to do in the future. Marilyn is part of the Missouri Crazy Quilters.

Aren't they great. Thanks Marilyn (and Vicki, her daughter) for the pictures. We are having our monthly meeting for the Kansas Crazy Woolies this afternoon so hope to share more pictures with you.

Back in Kansas

We arrived back in Kansas over a week ago and we were only here one day and Ron, my husband, had to go to the hospital for a week. That was not expected! So I am trying to get back into the groove of things. Mainly, I am trying to get ready to vend at the Wichita quilt show which will be held the last weekend in June. I am trying to get kits ready, dye wool, package patterns and make sure everything is just right. What an undertaking for me. Anyway, when I was in the shop, Dewees stopped by to show me her block and it is really good lookin'.

We will be having our monthly gathering of the Kansas Crazy Woolies this Sunday so hope I have more pictures to show you.

Views from Missouri

We have been here for a couple weeks now and almost time to travel back to Kansas for a spell. We don't let the moss grow under our feet! Guess we will probably be back and forth until we can't do it anymore. We have such great friends in both states...............living in two states just suits us fine.

This is where we live in Missouri. It was so beautiful when we drove up..............all the dogwood, redbud, eveything that blooms this time of year, was in its full glory.

This is the dock where we keep our lake toys. We had a couple beautiful days that we were able to take a boat ride on Tablerock Lake.

The water is so clean the wake from the boat is really white.

We always have some hungry friends that show up in the middle of the cove. They get so close you could feed them by hand (if you're that brave).

Lastly, the view of our cove from the end of the dock.

Sunday, we will be leaving for Kansas and will meet with the Kansas Crazy Woolies soon. Hope to have lots of pictures of their progress on their blocks.

Saturday, April 17, Hook-in at the Springfield Lake Boathouse in Missouri

I have just a few pictures of the hook-in at the Boathouse in Springfield, Missouri on Saturday, April 17. I vended and failed to get any pictures of the rugs that were outside on the deck. A big thanks to Paula who helped me out by taking some pictures for me.

Missouri Crazy Quilters April 15, 2010

The Missouri Crazy Quilters had their first meeting yesterday on April 15.
Fun, Fun, Fun!
Lots of ideas and exchanges of stitches were buzzin' around the room.

Betty is heading up the group in Missouri. She was lucky enough to win the book from a site on the web and the lady also sent a wool pineapple with the book. She is going to add it to her block. If you look close, you can see the starting of it near the bottom.

Jan and Diane travel from Warsaw, MIssouri to attend the gathering in Ozark, Missouri.

They came up with a really neat idea...........instead of basting, Jan needle felted the wool pieces down to the backing and batting. Somehow, I failed to get a picture of Minnie, Diane's Mom. She also came with them.

Marilyn and Paula worked really hard refreshing their minds on all the stitches. They had their books handy plus lots of advice from all the gals.

Lynne and Sherry are just too busy to even look up!

Couldn't believe that Kathy was just starting. She was ironing her backing and before we knew it, she produced a block!!! Betty is helping her.

Can you believe Karin has her oval block planned.

(Looks like a lot of work to me.)

Suzanne is doing an oval which will be very interesting. Helen always has great things to show and tell.

Sunday Gathering April 11,2010

We had our monthly Gathering on Sunday and how much fun! We are at every stage now, some are ready to start their blocks, some are working on the motifs and some gals are finished. (Needless to say, have started another one). There was a lot of exchanges in "How did ya do that stitch?" Anyway, lots to admire as you will see in the pictures that follow.

Becky's birdhouse is so stunning. It is so good looking on that dark background.

Ashley, you surprised all of us.......you're block is finished.

(by the way, she said to tell you she's single)

Betsy is ready to start on her block. Would you believe that she drives 2 1/2 hours to be at the Gathering?

Gaila was ambitious and has three block ready to go. She has started on the appliques and said she is going to use motifs that are personal and meaningful to her and her family. Such as the stocking below.

Liza is close to finishing her first block. Her colors are great!

Sharon is all ready to go!

I decided to frame mine.

My husband and I have just arrived in Missouri today and I will meet with the "Crazy Quilters of Missouri" on Thursday. Will be posting their progress so watch for it.

Sunday Gathering for the Kansas Crazy Woolies

The Kansas Crazy Woolies met for the first time Sunday afternoon . I was so impressed on how much they got done without going crazy!
